The stated mission of 27J schools is “to empower every student today to take control of their future tomorrow.” This is a worthy mission statement and we’ve done a pretty good job so far. But, we can do better, we have to do better, our children deserve better.
We have many students who have not reached the 3rd grade reading milestone. We have many students who have not reached the 8th grade math milestone. As your 27J school board director, I will work to ensure that all students reach these milestones. We have an 86% high school graduation rate, which is fairly good, but what about the 150+ students who did not graduate this year? For those students, we can do a better job of supporting them and providing tools so that they can take control of their future. We can absolutely do a better job in preventing bullying, drug and alcohol usage, physical & mental abuse, and suicides among our kids.
As your 27J school board director, I will fight for their future.
Will you join me?
